To support our sustainability efforts, we don’t place refrigerators in each guest room. Instead, you’re welcome to use:

Shared Guest Fridge – a large, communal refrigerator for personal items.

Honesty Bar Fridge – stocked with beer, wine, soft drinks, and water; help yourself and settle up later.

This setup minimizes energy use while still giving you easy access to chilled refreshments.

Our studios and the suite have a fridge in the kitchenette

Unfortunately, we do not accommodate pets, as our facilities aren’t set up for them. However, trained service dogs are always welcome.

We’re located in the heart of the Monchique mountains, a 20-minute drive from Portimão and 1 hour from Faro airport. Detailed directions, public-transport options, and local taxi contacts are provided on our “About us” page.

Cancellations made 14 days before arrival receive a full refund.  Cancellations within 14 days are non-refundable.

Ceremony & Reception: Up to 55 daytime guests can join your celebration on the deck and surrounding grounds.

Overnight Accommodation: We can sleep up to 28 guests on-site in our comfortable rooms. For larger parties, we partner with nearby venues to offer additional sleeping options.

VilaFoia is a small and personal retreat venue located in the Monchique mountains in the Algarve, southern Portugal. 

Unlike large retreat centers, we offer an intimate setting with just 12 ensuite rooms and capacity for up to 28 guests. 

Retreat leaders and participants enjoy panoramic mountain and ocean views, an outdoor yoga deck beneath cork trees, a geodesic dome for yoga and workshops, healthy meals, and personalized support from our team.

Yes. VilaFoia can be booked as an exclusive buyout for retreat groups, workshops, corporate events, and private gatherings. An exclusive booking gives your group full access to the accommodation, retreat spaces, gardens, terraces, pool, and jacuzzi, creating a private and focused environment for your participants.

VilaFoia has 12 ensuite guest rooms and can accommodate up to 28 guests, depending on room configuration. This makes VilaFoia ideal for intimate retreats where organizers want to maintain a personal atmosphere while still having enough space for group activities.

Yes. We work closely with retreat organizers before and during their retreat. We can assist with accommodation planning, room allocations, dietary requirements, airport transfers, local activities, excursions, schedules, and logistical coordination.

Absolutely. Every retreat is different, and we work with organizers to create a program that fits their vision. Meal schedules, dietary requirements, activity planning, airport transfers, and daily timing can all be adapted to the needs of the group.

Yes. Our chefs  regularly prepare vegetarian and vegan meals for retreat groups. 

We can also accommodate many food allergies and dietary requirements when informed in advance.

Yes. VilaFoia offers free private parking for guests. Most visitors arrive by rental car because the property is located in the peaceful Monchique mountains, approximately one hour from Faro Airport.

A car is recommended for guests who want to explore the Algarve and surrounding attractions. However, some guests choose to stay at VilaFoia simply to relax and enjoy the property. Airport transfers and selected local transportation can be arranged upon request.

Yes. We can help organize airport transfers between Faro Airport and VilaFoia for individuals, couples, and groups. Please contact us in advance for availability and pricing.

Yes. VilaFoia welcomes couples, families, solo travelers, and groups. Families particularly enjoy the pool, gardens, spacious rooms, and outdoor areas. VilaFoia offers 2 family rooms that sleep up to 4 people.

Monchique enjoys a mild climate throughout the year. Due to its mountain location, temperatures are often slightly cooler and fresher than along the Algarve coast, especially during summer. This makes VilaFoia a comfortable destination for hiking, retreats, and outdoor activities year-round.
